Samuel A Wykoff
Samuel A Wykoff | NCARB, LEED AP BD+C
Registered Architect - NJ + PA
Samuel is the principal of Samuel Ahren Wykoff Architect LLC, an independent, studio-based architectural practice located in Stillwater, New Jersey. His work focuses on custom residential architecture and small to mid-sized commercial projects, guided by the belief that meaningful architecture begins with understanding how people live, the character of place, and the thoughtful decisions that shape a building over time.
Samuel designs one-off architectural works for clients who value clarity, craft, and long-term thinking. His approach is collaborative and process-driven, helping clients make informed decisions at each stage of a project. He understands architecture not as a single event, but as a sequence—unfolding from initial conversations through design and construction—where quality emerges through intention and care.
Samuel received his Bachelor of Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, New Jersey School of Architecture, graduating magna cum laude in 1995. Early in his career, he worked in both small studios and larger firms, including Ford Farewell Mills & Gatsch Architects in Princeton, New Jersey. There, his work included academic, civic, and preservation projects for clients such as Princeton University and Princeton Theological Seminary—experiences that reinforced the importance of rigor, accountability, and clear documentation.
His background also includes nearly a decade of international practice. While living in Japan, Singapore, and Switzerland, Samuel worked as an architectural designer and consultant for U.S.-based firms and local clients, and served as an in-house architect for NiCE Ltd. in Singapore, where he led the relocation and interior fit-out of the company’s regional office. These experiences fostered a culturally aware and measured approach—one grounded in listening, adaptability, and respectful collaboration.
After returning to his hometown of Stillwater, Samuel established his independent practice in 2015. He maintains a selective practice, choosing projects where there is a shared appreciation for thoughtful design, clear process, and enduring value. This allows him to remain closely involved in each project and to guide clients carefully through what can often be a complex and unfamiliar process. In addition to his independent work, he collaborates with trusted consultants and colleagues on projects throughout the region.
In addition to his architectural practice, Samuel is a New Jersey State–certified Teacher of Technology Education and has taught STEM and architectural design in public high schools since 2016.
Samuel is a registered architect in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, NCARB certified and eligible for reciprocity in all U.S. jurisdictions, and a LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C). He currently serves on the Stillwater Township Zoning Board of Adjustment, providing him with practical insight into local regulations, approvals, and municipal review processes.
